The Reading Cloud is a revolutionary online reading community designed to engage students, parents and teachers. Reading Cloud was part of an existing library management business, and it needed to find an engaging way to reinvigorate the way students viewed and participated in reading. It was our first challenge to create a brand which would resonate with the target audience, and then help design of a fluid web app which could communicate how much fun and how rewarding reading could be.
We worked closely with the team behind Reading Cloud to find the voice of the brand. We needed to appeal to the children who the brand was trying to engage with, and reassure them that the brand would be fun and rewarding. We knew we would have to create a bespoke set of graphics and visuals for the brand, and to make any UI we used was vibrant and fun.
We created a bespoke font for the logo, and used contrasting colours for the main words. We added a padded cloud feel to the logo, highlighting the fact that the logo was floating in the clouds.
After creating the brand and related graphical items, we produced supporting sales material to better explain the proposition of the Reading Cloud. We also produced a series of posters with which schools could use to advertise the launch of the Reading Cloud.
We worked hard to produce a responsive website, leading with vibrant gradient headers for an organised layout.
